I normally don't like leaving one-star reviews, especially for small businesses, but this experience was really disappointing. We ordered the Szechuan chicken and specifically asked three or four times for it not to be spicy. It's absolutely possible to make Szechuan chicken without the heat, so we wanted to make sure our request was clear. When we got home, the dish was extremely spicy. Two of my family members tried it, and both said it was so spicy that it burned their throats and esophagus. We called the restaurant hoping they could make it right. Instead, the woman on the phone repeatedly insisted that the kitchen did not make it spicy, even though multiple people tasted it and had the same reaction. She didn't seem concerned at all and ultimately hung up on us after we said we'd just avoid ordering it next time. We've eaten here before, and their egg rolls and crab rangoons are actually very good. Unfortunately, we've never been impressed with their stir-fry dishes, and this experience confirmed that. The effect a year ago

Called to complain about them changing the type of chicken and batter used for the sesame chicken. Guy I was talking to claimed they changed it 8 years ago, which is ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! Either way, I was in the middle of telling him it tasted horrible and not the same flavor with them using the chicken they use for sweet and sour then just throwing the sesame sauce on it and he HUNG UP ON ME!! DONE patronizing this place! Rude! I used to love their sesame chicken, because it was different from other restaurants. Flat out done with this place!!

I had not been to Red Ruby Chinese since 2012! It was decent Chinese food from what I remember so I decided to give it a another shot. Honestly, I don't consider Chinese food to be very flavorful but when you have a craving for something you get it. I had put in my order before I read all the recent 1-2 ⭐ negative reviews from other customers, most were repeated customers. After getting home and placing my food in storage containers and eating it a couple of hours later it was about what I remembered. I would definitely but it again.

I was up at Red Ruby 05/09/2025. When im up here I usually get Sweet+Sour Chicken with Rice. I would say the food is good but not great as it used to be. Service was quick and I was in and out in maybe less than 10-15 mins. I do miss being able to sit down and relax. On a personal note a shout out to the Lee Family and some of the working staff members who worked for them which I went to grade school and high school with!!)

Worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. It’s supposed to have a spicy orange taste. It’s nothing but an orange colored sauce that resembles “sweet and sour sauce.” The chicken is thickly battered. Omg. If I could give zero stars, it would be zero. And the spring roll is so greasy.
